ISO 9001:2000 Certification of Quality

Our prime objective is to set excellence in students and see that they deliver excellence in whatever they do. Therefore, since establishment of the institute, right from admitting the students and starting the process of learning, the college is very much particular about development of Quality Management System. The Institute is continuously striving in this direction, it is no wonder this became the first college in its class to receive the ISO 900I : 2000 certification by JAS-ANZ (Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand) through Transpacific Certification India Ltd. The purpose of ISO Certification is to formulate and promote the use of International standards for all Industries, Institutes and other corporate sectors.

ACADEMIC COLLABORATIONS

IIT KANPUR-OPERATION BRAHASPATI

The Institute has been selected for installation of an ultra modern software-BRAHASPATI, recently developed and provided by the experts of lIT Kanpur, only to some centres of excellence in technical education of the country for quality teaching of engineering subjects.

The software linked the students and faculty of the college with the experts of IIT Kanpur and thus to make an educational exchange bridge. Out of 3500 Engineering colleges all over India, only 57 excellent technical institutions providing the facility of this wonderful and latest software in the country. In Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior Engineering College is the only institute, which provides the facility of software BRAHASPATI in all its departments and library.

ISRO RGPV Project-EDUSAT III

One of the greatest achievements is that the college has got ISRO RGPV EDUSAT-III project. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO),Ahemdabad facilitates satellite based online education system for the students of Engineering & Technology in our Country. For this purpose they had to select only I00 excellent institutes which are providing quality technical education with best infra structural facilities. The Technical University of M.P. (RGPV, Bhopal) selected a few centre of technical excellence of the state and recommended to ISRO, Ahmedabad to facilitate this modern sophisticated technique of satellite based online education system. ISRO plans to develop EDUSAT system to meet the growing demand for and interactive satellite based distance education system in the country, the GSAT-III application programme (GAP-III) has been proposed for using this satellite as a supplementary communication medium and advanced ground technology of convergence. GSAT-III is configured to meet the initial requirement of EDU-SAT-III, an exclusive satellite for distance education purpose. It is a matter of great pleasure that GEC has become one of the ISRO Satellite Based On-Line Education Centre.

AIMA-MAT EXAMINATION CENTRE

All India Management Association selected the Institute as the only Centre of MAT examination in Gwalior. AlMA conducts an All India Entrance Examination-Management Aptitude Test (MAT) for the admission in Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programmes in Reputed Management Institutes of India. In Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior Engineering College is the only engineering institute chosen for conducting the MAT on the basis of quality infra -structural facilities provided by the college.

Joint Entrance Test (JET) Examination Centre

The College has been selected as exam centre for Joint Entrance Test (JET). GEC is the only examination centre of JET in Gwalior, which is selected on the basis of ultra modern & Hi-Tech facilities available in the college. For this entrance examination students of 10+2 (PCM/PCMB) are eligible to appear. On the basis of merit in this examination students will get admission in prestigious institute of the nation.

INDO-CANADIAN INSTITUTE

Gwalior Engineering College has tie-up with Indo-Canadian Institute. As a result the students of GEC will be provided the scholarships for higher Education in Canada.

These students may also be given opportunities for placements in Canada. Experts from Indo-Canadian Institute will visit GEC to train the students & faculty & also improve their technical skills. The on-line digital library of the college will facilitate the students to receive different subject notes from experts of Indo-Canadian Institute.

TIE-UP WITH INDO-GERMAN TOOL ROOM

GEC is the only institute, which has a tie-up with Indo-German Tool Room (A Govt. of India Society). Government of India established Indo-German Tool Rooms in the country with technical and financial co-operation from the Federal Republic of Germany and respective states. Government of Germany provides funds for setting-up of Indo-German Tool Rooms in India. These Tool Rooms are situated in four major cities-Ahmedabad, Ludhiyana, Aurangabad & Indore. The experts of Indo-German Tool Room provide theoretical and practical training to engineering students of different disciplines. IGTR Indore has awarded its Nodal-Centre to Gwalior Engineering College, Gwalior in which students will get training by IGTR experts which is very much helpful to get placements in different industries of National and International repute. IGTR Indore is the state-of-art tool room, providing services in manufacturing of different types of Tools like-moulds, die - casting, dies, press tools, jigs and fixtures etc.

IGTRs are imparting training in the field of Tool Engineering and CAD/CAM and serving all over the country by providing quality tooling, their design department is equipped with latest CAD/CAM Softwares like Unigraphics, Mould flow analysis, etc. They use Zeiss, CMM and HALOS software for scanning and modal development.

The students of institute-Dev Vrat Tyagi (Electronics & Comm.), Sumit Moyal (Mechanical Engg.) and Himanshu Saxena (Computer Science) received Gold Medal in B.E. first year (Ist Sem.) from Dr. M.C. Gupta Honrable V.C. RGPV, Bhopal.
