One of the major areas of focus of the University is to significantly improve the quality of Technical Education in Professional institutes. The University soon after its establishment has focused its attention on a five point agenda, which includes:

The examination policy of University comprises of credit-based semester system providing students a greater freedom to register the courses of their choice. The course scheme has some compulsory as well as few elective groups in order to increase flexibility & provide specialization. It also provides for a much greater opportunity for self-study courses as well as slots for professional orientation and cultivation of interdisciplinary skills.

Courses on Information Technology have been provided in all the disciplines to ensure that the Engineers graduating from this University posses knowledge as well as the requisite skills in Information Technology besides having a sound knowledge of the subject matter of their chosen discipline.

RGPV is committed to excel the state in the area of Technical Education and research. The University has planned to setup University Teaching Department, in the area of Information science & Technology, Energy and Environment Management, Bio-Technology and Pharmaceutical Sciences. A University department of Entrepreneurship and Management Development is also being setup to provide a formidable support to the development of technoprenuers in the state. The University is also in the process of setting up a Center of Excellence in Information Technology to strengthen technology development and R & D in front line areas for the IT industries. In its previous years RGPV has laid a solid foundation for the development of RGPV as a world class University in the coming years.
